The Diesel Mechanic Course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines, particularly for internal combustion engines (ICE) used in various industries. The course covers both the theoretical principles and practical hands-on experience necessary for diagnosing and repairing diesel engine problems in a range of vehicles and machinery, from trucks and buses to industrial and agricultural equipment.


Course Overview:

  • Course Duration: 12 to 16 Days

  • Mode of Delivery: In-person/Online/Hybrid

  • Target Audience: Aspiring diesel mechanics, automotive technicians, engineers, fleet maintenance personnel, and anyone interested in working with diesel engines.

  • Prerequisites: Basic mechanical knowledge and interest in automotive technology. Prior experience in general mechanics or related fields may be beneficial but not required.


Course Learning Objectives:

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand Diesel Engine Fundamentals:

    • Basic principles of diesel engine operation

    • Differences between diesel and gasoline engines

    • Advantages of diesel engines in various applications

  2. Perform Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:

    • Identify common issues with diesel engines (e.g., starting issues, performance problems, fuel inefficiencies)

    • Use diagnostic tools to pinpoint engine malfunctions

    • Read and interpret diagnostic codes from modern diesel engine management systems

  3. Conduct Maintenance and Repairs:

    • Perform routine diesel engine maintenance (oil changes, fuel filter replacements, etc.)

    • Overhaul components such as the cylinder head, piston, and fuel injection systems

    • Conduct repairs on the turbocharger, exhaust systems, and cooling systems

  4. Master Fuel Injection Systems:

    • Understand the operation and maintenance of diesel fuel injection systems

    • Troubleshoot fuel injection problems

    • Calibrate and test fuel injectors

  5. Gain Hands-on Experience:

    • Work on real-world diesel engine problems in a controlled, supervised environment

    • Perform complete engine overhauls, testing, and reassembly

  6. Develop Safety and Environmental Awareness:

    • Learn safe working practices when handling diesel engines
